A powerful and devotional representation of Christ Pantocrator, depicted half-length with the traditional gesture of blessing and holding the Holy Gospel. The elongated facial features, calm yet penetrating gaze, and restrained earth-toned palette follow the established Russian iconographic tradition of the 19th century. The gilded halo, now softly worn by time, enhances the spiritual depth of the image. The surface shows natural aging, authentic craquelure, and areas of patina consistent with its period, all contributing to its historical character and devotional presence. Painted in egg tempera on wood panel, composed of two joined planks as visible on the reverse — a traditional structural method of the time. Condition: Age related wear, scattered paint losses, and surface patina consistent with a 19 century icon. Structurally stable with natural wood movement visible on the back.
