A finely executed 19th century Russian icon of Christ Pantocrator (Вседержитель), painted in egg tempera on wood with a richly tooled and gilded background. Christ is depicted frontally, holding the open Gospel and offering a traditional blessing. The detailed punched gold halo and ornamental border reflect the craftsmanship of late Imperial period icon workshops. The deep red and olive tones, together with the geometric blue accents along the frame, create a strong and dignified presence. Condition: visible surface wear, losses to the gilded border, and age-related flaking consistent with devotional use and time. Solid wooden panel with original back supports intact. Sold as is, preserving its authentic character and history.
