A monumental and theologically rich representation of Christ Pantocrator surrounded by narrative scenes from the life of Christ and key liturgical moments. At the center, Christ is depicted half-length, blessing with His right hand and holding the open Gospel inscribed in Church Slavonic — a powerful declaration of His divine authority and role as Judge and Teacher. The gilded background is beautifully tooled with intricate floral and circular ornamentation, enhancing the sacred radiance of the composition. Surrounding medallions and panels illustrate selected feast scenes and saintly figures, creating a complete devotional program within one icon. The balanced structure and solemn facial modeling are characteristic of 19th-century Russian iconography. Painted in egg tempera on wood panel composed of two vertical planks, as visible from the reverse. Condition: Honest age-related wear throughout. Visible craquelure, areas of surface loss, and natural patina to the gilding consistent with its age. The panel shows expected wood movement and aging on the reverse. Structurally stable.
