A remarkable Russian Festal Icon depicting a rich cycle of major Orthodox feast scenes, carefully arranged around a central Resurrection composition. Such icons served as visual summaries of the liturgical year, bringing together the most important events from the lives of Christ and the Mother of God into a single devotional image. Executed in traditional egg tempera on a wooden panel, the icon displays the distinctive provincial Russian style of the early 19th century, characterized by warm earth tones, luminous gilding, and expressive sacred figures. The numerous miniature scenes reflect the deep theological and artistic traditions of Orthodox iconography and would have occupied an important place within a church or private praye corner. The icon retains a strong historical presence with genuine age, original character, and a beautifully matured surface.
