A beautiful representation of the Kazan Mother of God, one of the most revered images in Russian religious art. The Virgin is depicted with her head gently inclined toward the Christ Child, whose raised hand offers a gesture of blessing. Their solemn expressions and intimate composition convey a profound sense of devotion, protection, and spiritual grace. The icon displays a deeply aged visual character, with extensive darkening, irregularities across the decorative surfaces, and a striking contrast between the delicately rendered faces and richly textured garments. Condition: apparent surface wear, darkening, and irregularities in the gold-toned decoration. The facial features remain clearly defined, preserving the composition’s expressive character. “𝔒𝔩𝔡 𝔴𝔬𝔬𝔡 𝔠𝔞𝔯𝔯𝔦𝔢𝔰 𝔥𝔬𝔩𝔶 𝔰𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔦𝔢𝔰”
