This icon reflects the devotional practice of combining the principal feast with patron saints, making it both liturgically and personally significant. Executed in egg tempera on wood with a gilded background, the piece shows the characteristic linear drawing, strong contouring, and restrained provincial palette typical of late 19th-century Russian workshops. The slightly simplified facial modeling and structured panel divisions are consistent with that period’s devotional production. The surface presents age-appropriate wear, patina, minor abrasions, and craquelure consistent with over 120 years of history. The original wooden panel with dual rear support slats remains intact, confirming traditional construction.
