A devotional icon depicting Saint Mitrophan of Voronezh, one of the most venerated Russian hierarchs and spiritual leaders of the Orthodox Church. Shown in traditional episcopal vestments, the saint raises his hand in blessing while holding a bishop's staff, emphasizing his role as a shepherd of the faithful and defender of Orthodox tradition. Executed in egg tempera on a wooden panel, the icon follows the established Russian iconographic tradition associated with Saint Mitrophan. The warm gold-toned background, solemn facial expression, and restrained palette reflect the spiritual character and contemplative nature of Russian religious art from the nineteenth century.
