A finely executed Russian icon depicting Saint Nicholas of Myra, shown half-length in traditional episcopal vestments. The saint raises his right hand in blessing and holds the Gospel adorned with a detailed cover, symbolizing his role as defender of the Orthodox faith and protector of the faithful. The upper inscription reads "Образь Святаго Николы Чудотворца" (Image of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker). The composition includes small standing saints at either side, enriching the devotional character of the piece. The reverse bears a handwritten dedication dated 1904, confirming its early 20th-century origin. Painted in traditional tempera on wood with a warm gilded background, the icon reflects the refined workshop style of the late Imperial Russian period, with smooth facial modeling and careful linear detailing. Condition consistent with age, with minor surface wear and edge handling, preserving its authentic devotional presence.
