A remarkable hand-painted Russian icon depicting Saint Nicholas of Myra, one of the most beloved saints in Christian tradition. Executed in egg tempera on wood with a radiant gilded background, this icon reflects the refined craftsmanship and devotional spirit of the Russian Orthodox iconographic tradition. The beautifully decorated episcopal vestments, expressive facial features, and traditional blessing gesture make this an exceptional example of 19th-century Russian religious art. The icon has developed a rich natural patina over time, with age-appropriate craquelure that enhances its authenticity and historical character. Preserved on its original two-board wooden panel, this piece remains a fine representation of Russian icon painting and has now found its new home in a private collection. Thank you to the collector for the trust. Wishing this beautiful icon many more years of preservation and appreciation. “𝔒𝔩𝔡 𝔴𝔬𝔬𝔡 𝔠𝔞𝔯𝔯𝔦𝔢𝔰 𝔥𝔬𝔩𝔶 𝔰𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔦𝔢𝔰”
