A devotional Russian icon depicting three holy bishops standing in solemn intercession beneath a small medallion of Christ blessing above. Each saint is shown vested in traditional episcopal garments with omophorion and Gospel book, rendered in balanced symmetry and spiritual dignity. The composition reflects the strong mid-19th century Russian ecclesiastical style — elongated figures, restrained yet expressive faces, and a warm gilded background. The haloes are carefully incised, and faint geometric underdrawing remains visible around the figures, a beautiful testimony to the iconographer's preparatory work. Executed in egg tempera on wood panel with traditional gesso ground. The surface shows visible age: areas of paint loss, abrasions, and flaking particularly in the upper section and right figure, consistent with authentic 19th century icons. The reverse shows a two-plank construction typical of Russian work of this period.
